Durian Cravings
Both of us have had a craving for durians for the longest time now. We'd drive past the durian stall on the way home, catch a whiff of the lovely fragrance, contemplate making a u-turn back to the stall... but end up deciding against it in the end. Too many calories! Too heaty! The 'excuses' managed to keep us from succumbing to the cravings; for a while at least....

judging from the pix, the durian should taste yummy!! now it makes me feel like eating too... but must resist cos on a diet!!
reminds me of a recent durian saga...
after a great dinner at tanglin village 5 of us decided to get some durians at the foot of the hill, but the honest durian seller told us all his 'good durians' were sold, leaving us to surmise that the 2 left on his rack were not good enough to eat.
so we drove 20 mins to serangoon (geylang has perennial durians but hard to find parking) where there was a famous durian stall with famous durian puffs. they HAD good durians, but the price! $40 for a square styrofoam package (they cut and place them in that package) for those from yr country, and $20 for a package of the same size but from Thailand. My friend bought the exp one in the end, and they were Really Good.
We also bought a bag of mangosteens, which gave us a rude shock when a torrent of BIG black ants streamed out from under one 'steen's leaves. but that's another story for another day. :)
i think in jusco, after certain time, they slash the prices. i hope yours were the slashed price.
Lyndis- waaaah $40??? Better be Really Good, at that price...
Fatboy- not sure if those were on slashed prices.... but think we'll buy 'proper' ones the next time (thorns and all) :D

ahaa, now we really can keep in touch here, durian? oh maaann, I had a craving of it a few weeks ago but I managed to resist!! by the way, have a good looong leave yeah, I really envy u!
