Singapore July 2016: Day 3

We took a long walk by the river the next day, starting from the Fullerton/Esplanade side, and all the way round to the Marina Bay Sands area. It was a lovely walk- although we got caught in a rainstorm. Check out the lovely photos below.

The Marina Bay Shoppes is a big shopping mall with a classy interior and a fabulous river view. We had lunch at the Super Heroes Cafe- food is cute, but not great (as one would expect of these places).

Next up was the ArtScience Museum- which had a fantastic exhibition called Future World: Where Art Meets Science. The kids had a whale of a time there! There was this activity where we could colour in 2D pictures, scan them, and they would appear in a 'town' in a form of 3D animated objects. Think cars, planes and buildings- way too cool! Every now and then a dragon would appear in the town, and you could touch the planes and make them fire at the dragon! It was really awesome! Highly recommended for families.

We watched a (free) light and water display in the evening- it was captivating indeed. I mean, how does one even project on a 'screen' of water?!? Mind-boggling technology, eh?

Singapore July 2016: Day 2

We spent most of our next day in Universal Studios Singapore, again. It was nice to be able to repeat some of the rides and do the things we missed out on the fist day.

The kids had a wet and wild time running though this water fountain- splashing about in the hot sun. Wished I could join them! (But it would have been waaaay too weird...)

Singapore July 2016: Day 1

We went back to Singapore in July; this time our main purpose was to visit Universal Studios Singapore. We had loads of fun - as you can see from the photos below. 

It wasn't a very big park, but we decided to take 2 days to explore the park at our own pace. We bought a 6-month pass (as that was strangely cheaper than 2 one-day passes); unfortunately that took such a long time to get done that I missed the fireworks! Grrrrr.

The Transformer ride was AWESOME! The special effects were just out-of-this-world; the ride itself probably wasn't going very fast, but the effects made it feel like we were going at breakneck speed. We took turns using the Single Rider line, which was absolutely necessary to skip the crazy queue. 

What great theming! 

We watched this live action show called Water World and it was pretty entertaining. Very young kids might feel a little scared at some parts of the show though, due to the loud sound effects. 

None of us attempted the Battlestar Galactica ride - it looked waaay too scary!

AIA Vitality Launch!

Finally- launching AIA Vitality after years of hard work! The event was really successful- energetic, fresh and fun. I absolutely loved the colours that were on display that day!

We had juice bikes and a wind chamber to draw prizes- which provided a lot of fun for the guests. Here's to the birth of AIA Vitality in Malaysia! I was so happy I almost cried tears of joy.. *sniff*

Short work trip to HK

No photos of work here, but here are some photos of a really yummy dinner I had with a dear friend. I ate until my tummy felt like it was about to burst! *Groan* 

We had a fantastic time catching up; thank God for good friends!

AIA Staff Party 2016- Time Travel Extravaganza!

I thought the theme for our annual dinner (staff party) was really quite clever. It was fairly 'open-ended' and allowed for people's creativity to shine through.

My table opted for an Egyptian theme, which was pretty cool. Other themes that day included- Great Gatsby, Red Indian, Cavemen (that was so funny!), Space (who's to say time travel can't be travelling into the future?), Ancient China, back to school (think pigtails and old-style carry cases) and many other great ideas.

What a fun night!

Celebrating Mum & Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary!

40 years! I knew I had to do something special. I hatched a plan and planned a surprise dinner for them- pulling together some other family members living in KL.

That wasn't even the hardest part. The hardest part was making a photobook with stories and photos contributed from friends and family- now that was really challenging. Even some family members *scowl* were not cooperative, so that was really annoying as well.

Seeing the look on their faces that day really made it all worthwhile. Everyone had fun; and there was lots of laughter and good cheer.

Happy Ruby Anniversary- Mummy and Daddy! Love you loads.... and thank you.. for EVERYTHING.

Singapore (Feb 2016): Day 3

Day 3 saw us exploring Sentosa- or to be more specific- Resorts World Sentosa. Actually, we only managed to cover 2 attractions- S.E.A Aquarium and the Trick Eye Museum.

A huge wooden ship greeted us when we stepped into the S.E.A Aquarium. We were supposed to watch a video before going in.

I have to say that this aquarium is AMAZING. The tank right at the end was truly mesmerising; I probably could have sat there for hours watching the sea life. Such a calming experience. The jellyfish display was really fascinating as well- they were simply gorgeous to look at.

The Trick Eye Museum turned out to be so much fun. It was our first time in one of these 3D museums, and we were not quite sure what to expect, but we had an absolute whale of a time! The kids dutifully posed (without complaining) and we all had a good laugh seeing all the funny photos. Too bad I can't post any photos here :)

Singapore (Feb 2016): Day 2

Hubby had to attend a course the next day, so I took the kids to visit the National Museum of Singapore. The museum had a little quiz/treasure hunt activity sheet for kids- and they had so much fun completing that. We spent a fair bit of time there, and also checked out a special exhibition that outlined the Singapore story.

There are such good quality museums in Singapore- I wished I could say the same for Malaysia. Sigh.

Singapore (Feb 2016): Day 1

Singapore is a great place to visit for families, and we were glad to be back. Our first day there saw us at Gardens by the Bay, and we visited both the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest. I was a little worried that the kids would be bored seeing plants, but I was pleasantly surprised that they enjoyed themselves.
