Babies really don't keep; they grow so unbelievably fast. In a blink of an eye, No.2 is 4.5 months old already!
I'm quite relieved that she's looking less 'cheesed-off' these days- probably because she can respond to her surroundings; cooing, smiling and chuckling. Previously she seemed to be perpetually grouchy- gravity tends to do that to fat and chubby cheeks! Haha :p
The first time she chuckled, hubby and I burst out into laughter- it was hilarious beyond words! Hubby was saying something funny at that time and suddenly we heard this funny noise; took a while before we realised it was our little girl chuckling!
She's developing really well too. A couple of milestones:
- At 2.5 months, she could already get a good hold on her thumb. Enough to pacify herself; and in the last month or so, she could do enough to soothe herself back to sleep. Which means no more middle-of-the-night feeds for me! Yahoo!
- At about 3 months, she could reach out, grab and grasp things- her motor skills seem to be doing ok so far.
- Oh, and at 3.5 months, she started turning over! Just a little at first, but she quickly learned to turn the whole way and mastered the skill of 'releasing' the trapped arm in no time at all! Clever little girl. Even the doctor was impressed, heh :)
So far, it does seem that No.2's developments are progressing at a faster pace than No.1. Either that or we're less 'kan cheong' this time (or maybe too busy?) to keep track of all the details!
Oh, and did I mention she weighs 8.3 kg at the 4.5-month mark?? Gosh! :)
Praise the Lord that she is growing so well!
